Went Autograss racing on Sunday. Has to be the worst conditions I have ever shot in. To begin with, there was only the harsh sunlight to contend with, but as the day wore on, the dust was horrendous. How the drivers and marshalls coped I will never know.
#1 Class 6 club champion leading the way (as usual!)

#2 A rare Autograss chassis, and powered by a 3.5 litre supercharged Chevy V8

#3 The dust just got worse....

#4 ....and worse.....

#5 Even the closed wheel cars were kicking it up big style!

#6 Twin Honda Blackbird Engined Class 7 - Apart from off the start line, these cars are driven sideways for most of the time

#7 Finally towards the end of the day, the track began to polish up - you can just see that the cars are starting to lay down some rubber

I know things would be bad, so I checked for sensor dust before and after the event. With some simple precautions before, during and after shooting you can spend a day in conditions like this and not get any additional crud onto your cameras sensor. Wouldn't want to be out in conditions like this every day though...
Cheers,
Simon.
