This is my very first picture taken in sports mode with my eos 350d
how could i inprove this shot

Sharpening. Maybe a little more contrast. Nice composition - like the shadow, space in front of the rider.

closer & sharper crop would be one suggestion. Another would be to slow down the shutter speed and pan while snapping the shutter. Don't forget to follow through your pan like a golf swing. The idea is to show some "motion" in the photo. It's a nice jump, but he just kind of looks stuck in the air. Close the aperture & if need be use a ND filter or Cir. Pol. filter to help slow it down enough.
Just my 2 cents worth.

This is the only other picture i have of this jump because the rider decided that he didnt like riding this quad anymore and fell off:( Thanks for the feedback all of you

If you get down it will look like the jump is higher & you might not have a tree behind him.

I think it would help to see what he is jumping from. Is it a ramp or what? Also as already said, get a little lower to show them a little higher
