I sailed on the Caribou's maiden voyage back in May '86. My grandfather was a survivor of the original Caribou, which was torpedoed off Port-aux-Basques in Oct. '42.

How about an icebreaker to show what ice these Newfoundland ferries have to contend with in the Cabot Strait. Some of that stuff is over 8 feet thick.

The Kalmar Nyckel docked in Yorktown, Va. The sailing ships and Pirates were everywhere during Harborfest this past summer...

This is a NAVY File picture NOT MINE.
I had this hanging over my desk for many years. I actually saw it doing fire support off the coast of Vietnam..

^ that must have been spectacular to see. My Grandfather was in the RN and on the HMS Hood (transferred off before she met her demise) and apparently broadside salvoes were like the wrath of God.
