The Situation: I have galleries on my website from specific aviation events but they're comprised of images covering a variety of subjects. Jets, Props, People, etc...

The Question: Would you leave these event galleries intact (despite the fact that they'll be eventually superceded by a 2010 version) or at some point, re-distribute the 2009 images to specific subject galleries?

Or, should I perhaps make a 2009 Group for these galleries and start a new 2010 Group for new galleries?

Thanks for any thoughts offered...

I would divide them up by event and then by date. For instance, put all of the same photos from Airshow XYZ in one gallery and have the 2009 and 2010 galleries under that. I wouldn't necessarily divide them up by category (prop vs jet). Just my $0.01.

Oh, so you'd do a Group containing galleries from each year of the same event. Interesting idea... Hadn't considered that.

That way if someone has an interest in a particular event, all of the shots are there together. Do you keyword your images before you post them? That way, if someone was looking for prop planes, they could do a specific search.

I organize them in dates followed by a description and the names of the individuals when possible.

There is a little "sizes" box to decrease the font size. Just FYI.;)

I do some keywording in Lightroom but lately, I've been doing most of my keywords via the Zenfolio interface after uploading.

Some good things to think on. Thanks! :D

Zenfolio offers groups, galleries, and collections. Use them all!

Make a group for Airshows. Have galleries inside that group for each year. You could even add collections inside that same group for each type of plane. The same picture can be shown in several different places.

Have a look at this: http://www.msbphoto.com/events/

The first 2 are groups, the 3rd is a gallery, and the 4th is a collection showing selected pictures from a private gallery.
