Bill's pretty '62 Chrysler 300 has a almost stock 383 except for a few safety changes. (He's still got all the old parts, though.) ;)
That's Bill on the right.

Mopar heaven It's sort of a love/hate relationship, isn't it? They're more expensive to modify & the "NoWarranty" department is always happy to screw you over, but we still love them! :-D

Nice car Frank, Or should I say "Bill"? ;) I actually got to drive a slightly later version of the "300" when I was in North Hollywood CA in 76/77. It was on a car lot, and I think it was a late 60ish car? The most memorable part of it was that it had a 413 wedge with a cross ram manifold and twin carbs just like the engine in your post "Max Wedge". I think it was a factory set up as well.

I tried to get dad to buy the 300C in 1957 after reading Tom McHills (?) writeup in Popular Mechanics. He knew better & passed on "...lifters that will rattle your teeth", and got the Windsor instead! ;):D
I just loved that tortion bar suspension. The first car I ever drove that would corner!

that he dropped dead at the thought

He was responsible for all the salespeople in the US, so he would put on a lot of miles. Still, we would take about 1 trip a year. This was before the Interstate Freeway system so you'd stop at every light in every Podunk along the way. A bonus was that several States didn't have speed limits back then. ;-)

Nice pics, and good resto job, but Chrysler put the Ug in Ugly with these cars in the 60's. Think of a big 62 Galaxie, and Impala, then look at that thing. Yuck!!
Just my opinion of course, everybody likes different stuff.

Marie, "Podunk" is a generic name for small, rural towns, Some may even have a stoplight!
(Funny, Bruce!)

Yeah they started to get it right with the 1964 Plymouth Fury.

I guess the towns may have another name by now and have changed from being podunks:lol:
I wonder what the people in podunks called those who travelled through in the big sleek cars:rolleyes:

:D The old terms going back to the days of 1 horsepower, were "Carpet Bagger" & "City Slicker". I don't know what the current terms are, but can guess what some of the adjectives are. (Pekka won't let us use them!) ;):D
