Hello. I'm going to be purchasing the i9900 photo printer and it seems that it doesn't include a cable....WTF??!! Anyway, was wondering if anyone knows what kind I need to get. I have an I Mac computer, don't know if that makes a difference or not. I asked Amazon (where I'm getting it from most likely) and they were no help at all.

Firewire if you have a firewire port otherwise USB 2.

The kind to get is any generic USB or firewire cable.
I have many around the house that work quite well, they come with almost every device I buy these days. I especially like the dual USB/FW drives as I get a cable of each type, so really end up with them all over the place.

I bought my i9900 from B&H back in May, and I also ordered a USB cable because it didn't come with one. The cable wound up being shipped first, and the next day the printer arrived with a free cable thrown in by B&H.

Just FYI, printers rarely come with cables.

Thanks all. I'm sure I have some extra cables laying around somewhere. I'll deal with it when the printer comes.

If you're going to use the Firewire, the printer end is a 6-pin plug as is the computer end.
If you are going to use a USB cable, then the printer end is the type that's looks kind of squarish, not the flat kind that goes into the computer although the other end of that cable would be, and not the really tiny one that would go into a camera or camcorder. Why USB plugs come in 3 different sizes and shapes is beyond me.

Just to let you know. Canon manual in the i9900 box says Firewire only works with Mac OSX, Windoze uses USB 1.1 or 2 (different conectors for 1.1 and 2)

You'll love that printer. The colors it produces are fantastic. I find I get my best colors with Ilfords's Classic Gallerie Pearl paper.
