My still fairly new 20D sees mostly little league baseball games and the occasional candid portrait, but it and I got to spend the past weekend in Charlevoix (northwestern lower Michigan), and we found these critters, both taken with my 70-200/2.8L

Nice! Both shots are great, and you must have been pretty darn close to both those animals to get such shots. Especially the humming bird. Those things are tiny!

Thank you. The only wildlife photography I've ever done has been at the Detroit Zoo. This was lots more fun. I was about 7 or 8 feet from the racoon, who couldn't have cared less that I was there. The flash didn't even bother him. The shot of the hummingbird is cropped some - I was shooting through a window from my wife's uncle's living room to the feeder on their deck. Here is another shot of the bird, without cropping, also taken with the zoom at 200mm...

Beautiful birds ... I'm very jealous you can just stick a shortish lens out a window to get these :lol: :lol:
