We went for a walk this weekend to the playground. The sun was pretty harsh but I found a bit of shade.

Feel free to comment or suggest improvements.

Great shots, nice and clean with great color. I'd like to see the top one cropped a bit closer and get rid of the pink pants. The background colors with her white shirt would look great.

Wow, I really like the colour and complexion on the first photo ! It looks really good !

Which lens did you use for it and did you use any filters ?

Great Pictures, and I love the sharpness and color of the first one. The only thing that I would suggest is maybe a little fill flash. Great lookin kids. Keep it up!

Beautiful photos, such clarity. I'm still striving for that kind of sharpness. What lens did you use? Do you remember the settings? Oh, and your daughter has incredible skin..something else I've been striving for...lol :)

Wow, the exposure on the first one is perfect, at least on my monitor. Were you using a reflector or fill flash?

It was my 50mm 1.8. There was no reflector or fill flash because I didn't feel like lugging it all with us to the park :)

Solinger,

beautiful pictures - thanks for sharing :D
You do have 2 very cute kids.

Thank you for the EXIF information ... I will certainly try to use my 50/1.8 at f/5.6 more... have used it mostly in the f/2.8 range so far and was not always too happy with the bokeh there.

Did you apply any post-processing?

Best regards,
Andy

The first one is great! I agree with previous comments that it could benefit from cropping out the lower portion and concentrate on the face. Very nice background. The second pic, I like as well for the expression. Your kids look great!

You see, I know excellent pictures can be taken w/ the nifty fifty, I've seen it with my own eyes.
Ann Snelson aka MOMOFAIRFORCEBRATS uses it also, and her pics are SHARP as well.
But I, like Andy, have been disappointed using it at 2.8, probably because I mostly photograph
toddlers who don't sit still, and I can't geta sharp shot. I've also been afraid to use ISO 100 because I thought I should use a faster ss for my busy little subjects.

Anyway, once again, great job...I'll keep practicing...

If you read my signature you can see that I have not bought any L glass yet. For me I work on getting the most out of what I have, until I decide to drop the money down on better glass I need to learn to work with what I have.

Sorry to say that even though my lens is a 1.8 it really doesn't work very well at that apperature.

I also really like my kit lens. I know I am in the minority but it works for me.

I did do some post processing, to remove scratches etc, I always sharpen and adjust levels. Sometimes I do a saturation boost. When I use higher ISO I will also use a noise reduction.
