Appreciate comments, critiques, and revisions. Was trying to go for a sorta arty but not too surreal look. Tried to manage halos and grain in the sky, but might have ended up too dark perhaps.

Very nice shot. I might suggest you increase the contrast a bit to give the image a bit more 'pop'.

I like the scene, I'm not sure if there was enough DR to make it a HDR though. The other problem I have with HDR and tone mapping is clouds can come out looking sooty. I've futzed around with the gamma adjustment, and that can help, but I've not spent enough time with HDR to know how to make some of the nuance adjustments needed to make the photos what I would like. Anyway, I'm sure others will chime in.

Thanks - should I be bumping the contrast through Photomatix or through post-processing in PSE?

Yeah unfortunately I am working off from one RAW photo, since I didn't do AEB. Will be going that route from now on.

Thanks for the comments. I'm thinking of printing this off on canvas, so if there are any problem areas folks think need fixing before hand, I'm all ears.

After I've done the tone mapping, I reopen the image in PS to do the finishing touches. Just use PSE to do the same. Adjust levels, curves, etc til you're pleased with the results.
