Looks like she's really going for it! Great capture, I like the sharpness of the eye. What lens did you use?

Thanks for the comments. The eye lashes are what really sold me on keeping this shot. I used my brand new Tamron 70-300 lens. I just got the lense the other day and have just started to play with it....th eonly other lens I have is the kit lens that came with my 350D. I am a real novice, but just love the hobby so far.

I'm gonna try and attach another one with the same lens from the same day....

It looks like you've already figured out how to use your new lens... great pictures!

If you wondered why your photos are blurry, it's because you need a higher shutter speed.

Use the 1/ the focal lenth rule.

If you're at 70mm, your shutter speed should be a minimum of 1/70sec.
If you're at 300mm, your shutter speed should be a minimum of 1/300sec.

This applies unless you have very steady hands.

Thanks...I have been so caught up in playing with Aperature, that I forgot about shutter speed until it was too late....Hopefully my next set of photos will have good DOF and proper shutter spped. Thanks for the tip on the general rule for focal length I will start working on it.
