Hi I am new here, and so excited to have found this place, it is exactly what I have been looking for! I bought my 300D about 3 months ago and I love it. I have never taken a photography class so I am trying to absorb as much information about appiture, white balance, saturation, what makes a good photo, etc. that I can, so I can perfect my skills (if you can call them skills at this point). I would love to do this as a serious hobby-maybe-someday-side-profession. Anyway, here is one of my favorite shots of my favorite subject, Daisy my Boston Terrier. This is the unedited shot with the kit lens.

Here is another one that I took in low light and no flash. I actually love how it looks with soft edges.

I'd love some advice... I just ordered a Canon Speedlite 420EX Flash
and a Canon EF 50mm f1.4 I hope these will make a difference, they are my first hopups.
