Nice shots. Like the Tornado F3 very sharp and well exposed. Looks like the Tutor student was looking out for you! Good prop blur essential with propellor aircraft.

Well done.

No airshow, sorry. Leeming has activity everyday (depending on the weather) I had a couple of days off work this week so I popped up there in the afternoon (my 1st visit)

Its only 45 minutes from Leeds, Have a ride up there..;)

My house gets buzzed by Tornados (and big helicopters) every day... and one of these days, when my 100-400 gets here, maybe I'll be able to take GREAT pics like these, too!!!

It was a great experience taking these shots myth337 but the thought of these over my house day and night makes me shudder..:(

Good luck with the 100-400mm.. They are a great lens (I had one) Don't forget to post your shots, You are in the hot seat for this sort of photography..:D

They usually fly over twice a day.. once this way, and once that way. The noise only lasts a few seconds, and they are usually gone before my camera wakes up from sleep mode.

(tried a couple of snapshots with my 500mm Tamron yesterday.. there were some F-16's chasing the Tornados, so I got a few seconds warning. either way, couldn't focus on them fast enough.)
.. just wait till I get my new lens, boys.. then you're mine!!

and besides... I have been in the aviation field for many years... and I love the sound of turbines and the smell of jet fuel... :D

Thanks for your comments, Yes believe it or not my first attempt at Jets/Planes so I am very happy with the results, I suppose the extreme nice weather did help the shots though..:D

First time, very good. Way to keep that shutter speed down on the prop job. 1/160 at 420mm, very nice.
I assume you made a mistake on the first photo. ISO800 in the bright sun??
