Memorial to a Woman Burned as a Witch, in Dunning, Perthshire
The inscription is repainted every year, but no body knows who does it..
Dunning was quite enlightened in the 17th Century, only 8 women were burned..

Excellent shot Phil, nice mystery to the painter also.......my wife was doing some reading just recently on witches burnt in Scotland, there were 81 executed in East Lothian during the 1600's. A ceremony pardoning them was held last Halloween.....RIP.

Really nice photo. I particularly like the way that the clouds and the cross peak at the same point.

You got it! You can still see the fort foundations at Braco, a few miles away, I think part of the Antonine Wall.
(will have to find pix)
