I would have used Fill Flash on both of them. Nice looking girl though.

Believe it or not, I DID, but I haven't quite got it rigt yet. I was told my flash is TTL, which I understood to mean the camera would work out the settings for me.

I must admit, it confused me a bit . . . any advice out there?

Cute Girl!!!

TTL only means the metering is done by the camera instead of the flash.

Beautiful subject. In the first pic, try to keep the window (or door?) frame vertical.

I knew that, and that's why I can't understand why it looks like there isn't any fill in flash, because it was set to TTL and the flash went of when I took the shot, but it still doesn't look enough

Looks fine to me.
On the first shot you can see a line on her right arm as a shadow was cast from the frame, even though she is backlit. It seems a bit flat though...but I'm a contrast junky. And look how much it softened the shadow (also on her right arm) in the second pic.
Looks good!

Fill looks fine to me. You have enough fill, but not enough to actually make the cheeks/forehead glow. Good ttl work.

Cute girl

Hi there,

My 2c...was taught that one should not take pictures with trees or "things" that are coming out the top of a person head. The window wood is slanting and the image of it is sharper than the model.
In the 2nd pic, the top of the head/hair is slightly cropped off and the background needs to more blurred out.

Suggest a recomposition to capture the beauty of the model.

Thank you
