Hello,
I am new to the forum and have been having an issue with my G10 as of late. On some pictures I have blue colored blobs showing up. Mostly on the nose and under the eyes. Anyone know what these are and what to do about them?? I am using the G10 with and off the camera 430EX II. HELP!!!

at first I thought these were the shadows under the eyes but blown up they are definitely blue blobs. Some are worse than others but this should give a good example.

Blue blog on the nose. It 99% of the time just shows up on the bridge of the nose

Subscribing just to see what happens. This is the most bizarre thing I've seen in quite a while.

I have searched all over the internet and have found absolutely nothing about this issue.

Just a completely off-the-wall thought, but could "my colors" be enabled doing a color shift to the one specific skin shade?

No, I always shoot with "my colors" off.

Is it always on the same person?
No, different people, just the examples I have shown here are the same. I can post a couple of others.

red-eye reduction ??
I have the red eye reduction setting on but the tones underneath the eyes and on the bridge of the nose I would not equate with red eye, but at this point anything's possible.
This phenomenon does not happen in every picture, just in about every 2 out of 50 shots (!), but why would it affect some and not others? I have 3 poses that are extemely similar, though only one has the blue blobs.

I agree with you but my colors and red-eye are the only two things that come to mind that would modify the image.

At this point in time I am willing to try anything, so I will certainly give this a shot. I don't know when I will be shooting in these conditions again, but I will try some test shots tonight.

Yeah those marks are due to the red eye correction under the flash setting being on.
I had that problem awhile back when i started using bounce flash.
I was shocked to see everyone had teal coloured makeup under their eyes on nearly all my photos when i loaded them up on my computer.
I immediately checked through all the setting on my camera for an explanation or else i'd be return my G10 again but i found the red eye and turned it off for good!

I would reset the camera back to it's default settings; if it still does it you will know it is not a setting you changed.
