Only able to open Rebel xt raw with CS2 & eliments 3.0??

It is true but I think there is a workaround if you don't want to u/g to CS2 straight away.
Download Adobe Camera Raw 3.1 from the adobe website.

Unzip the file and bundled with the ACR 3.1 plugin is a standalone "Digital Negative Converter". Convert your 350XT raw files to the DNG format. These should open in PSCS ACR 2.4.

Ok it's an extra step but it's a free option for the moment.

The DNG program that downloads with ACR 3.1 will work. It is a standalone program. The Canon software that comes with your camera (Digital Professional 1.6) also works, and there are several 3rd party programs that do the trick. In each, you convert the RAW image, then import that to CS.

You are correct. ACR 3.1 will only work with CS2 and Elements 3.
