all i can say is WOW..those are awesome lenses guys!!

i thought the 70-200 didnt have the AF turned on because it was so quiet.i was starting to think its broken since it was in AF and it didnt make a sound.

now the 50mm

im just now going through the pictures of today..and im tempted to sell my 28-80 to get the 50mm..who cares about wide angle if you can have crisp shots!!

and the 70-200 AF is just amazing..finally got to find out what the XT is made of.
I had an awesome time today and only got yelled at one time at the airport today..
awesome..
heres a shot taken with the 50mm..My friend Steve sells these for a living.
now hes selling custom ones..to people like orange county choppers etc.

You might find enough tucked down the backs of the seats on the coach!

Yes Felix, by all means get the nifty fifty. I find it very sharp and who cares how much noise it makes! Well, some folks may, but not I. It's great to have in the bag for us who don't have a lot of excess funds for this hobby.

Well, I didn't have much time to browse Orange county choppers' website (as it is rather slowish), but they must be doing pretty crazy things to put bus wheels on motorcycles

Best regards,
Andy

I only take my 50mm 1.8 off of my camera if I need to shoot wide and cant walk any farther backwards, or if I need to shoot sports.

Get it, its cheap. I got my mk1 with a camera attached for like 180 after shipping (guy charged way too much for shipping) and the new ones are 60-80.

That's awesome that you got to play around with your friends lenses. They're really great lenses. I own both of them and they're pretty great.

Anyway, definately get the 50mm f/1.8. It's just too cheap to pass off, and I'm sure it's a lot better than your sigma lens that you'll be selling to get it. Then save your cash and get the 70-200mm f/4L because it's an AMAZING lens! :-)

Personally I don't really like the 50mm f/1.8... I find it's AF too slow and it's bokeh un-impressive, but then again I compare it to my 17-40L and 70-200L so... guess I'm not giving a fair chance huh?

Certainly does perform real well for a $75 lens though!:-)

I just recieved my 50 from B&H yesterday and haven't had much time to play with it. But I'm just trying to find the sweet spot on it and also seeing how well it does in low light(the reason I bought it).
I also now realize that I am hooked on zoom lenses LOL. If I were to get another prime it would have to be like 400mm :-)
