I think I should say that the empty space they are looking at is where the World Trade Center used to be.

BB, unfortunately everybody in the civilized world knows what that place is. Some for personal experience (either before or after 9/11), most from TV and magazines. Haven't been in NYC after 9/11, but will probably do this summer. And I have to stop by to honor the victims and pray for them.

Being an Asussie I had no idea but guessed from the title that may have been the place.:(

Oh, crud, Rob, what have you done now? BB, interesting image ... I can see a little blue here and there but not much other color ... any reason for that?

I doubt anyone is offended it just has alot of sad memories for me personally.

Its best not to foget these kind of events so your photograph is very good.

Sorry for not replying right away, I was on a week long trip and didn't get to go online much. Thanks everyone for viewing. This is indeed a solemn spot, and I rarely go there because somehow the air weighs heavily on my shoulders when I'm there. When I'm there I do what most people do, just stare silently down the site and ponder on these troubling times.

Dwight, I exposed for the highlights to produce silhouettes. This rendered a nearly black and white pic, and I desaturated it a bit to emphasize that this place has lost the color of life. Perhaps when we build again upon it I will have a more colorful shot, but even if we do, we must never, never forget.

I had no idea where it was but I took a wild guess based on the Title. Nice shot BB.
