Hi guys, I have a canon rebel xt. And every time i take pictures i notice something wrong. It appears that veins or roots always appear running along the right side of my pictures. Is something cracked? Im new to photography so i am curious as to what to do. tahnk you

Rebel Xt? As in the 350D? That could be fluff, or if you try a different lens you will confirm it is either the lens is scratched/dirty or the sensor is dirty

Yes it is a 350d. do you think i should get a like a rocket blower? Someone suggested it.

Have you tried a different lens?

If it is the sensor, there is two option a) send it to an authorised dealer or b) get a cleaning kit for the 350D/Xt

looks like a fuzzy piece of lint on your sensor to me... get a rocket blower and a cleaning kit. Usually the rocket blower will take care of stuff like that though!

Sure looks like crud on either the lens or the sensor. A rocket blower should cure it but worst case would be the camera needs a "wet clean" which is probably best done by a professional.

Take the lens off and look through the viewfinder (be careful to do this in a reasonably clean location). If you see the same marks, its on your sensor.

If you see the same marks then it'll be a miracle. You can't see the sensor by looking through the viewfinder.

Yeh, little matter of a shutter curtain and a mirror or two being in front of the sensor plus the difficulty of seeing around corners.
However, if you see dirt or whatever without the lens, it is on your focusing screen. But in that case it will not be in a photo.

Cleaning your own sensor is not that hard or risky. I've done mine dozens of times as have many other shooters that I know. It is up to each person to decide if they want to do it or take it in but one should not be apprehensive of doing it.

Given that the OP appears not to have a great wealth of technical knowledge, I was assuming that he might not want to go near the sensor.
