Hi all,

I'm just getting into digital photography and have a quick question aboiut a style of shot.

I'ma big fan of the long exposure stream shot, you know where you get the motion blur of the stream. My question is how to get that out of a canon A40?! I've been experimenting with longer shutter times, but the picture comes out over exposed. Does anyone know of any tutorials that could help me?

sorry if this sounds totally ignorant, but i've got to learn somewhere!

cheers,

Richard.

HI,

YOu'll need to buy the lens adaptor ring (about £15), then buy some F-STOP filters - these are just dark filters than increase the exposure time in daylight (called F-STOP, as they move the effective f-STOP point - this is the exposure rating - F4.8, etc)

Then experiement with different shutter times.

Also, worth noting - the higher your zoom in, the higher the f-stop - i.e on the A40, if you manually adjust the f-stop to f4.8 - this increases to f8 as you zoom in - play with this first (if you havnt already) before buying a filter - you may not need one.

Good luck.
