Needs to be more in focus, crop out adult's knuckle on left and bracelet, tightening it in more. I love these kinds of photos :)

Yep, that is better, even a bit more would work (off top?). Much better this way :)

I like it better uncropped, you can see the hospital bracelet and that adds something for me.

Sorry I don't have it in color, It was taken in B&W, I wished now I had done it in color. thanks everyone for your feed back. I may be entering it in a art and photograghy contest at one of our local schools, all the proceeds will go to relay for life, the subject is "celebrating Life" Thanks again

I really like the original image. The fact that the name tag is visible really lends itself to the story of teh picture.

Start shooting RAW. Then you have all the options!
I think it is a great shot both cropped and uncropped. But I feel a little bit more for the uncropped one (with the bracelet, which has a clear message: "Newly born"). I would probably clean up the shot a bit. There are some distraction in the image that can be easily cloned or brushed out and will make it more easy to concentrate on the hands.
Like the white blur at the top right, the shade at the bottom left, the table edge and then crop just that the bracelet is still there but the baby jacket is cropped out.
A bit like this:

I have to agree...the hospital band really adds to this photo, giving one a sence of the timeline and the specialness of this photo.

I like it better uncropped too. And I like the shot as is. Although I am typing from my iPod and only see a small image.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, other than the crop is there anything else about the pic that might need some work on?
