G3 with Lens Adapter

I heard that Conversion Lens Adapter LA-DC58B obscures AF assist lamp and internal flash.
Is that true?

Hi Alex. Check out this site: http://www.lensmateonline.com/g3_samples.html. You can see how it obstructs the viewfinder, autofocus emitter, and the internal flash. I believe the LA-DC58B is 58mm.

LA-DC58B is 58mm and what I'v seen on http://www.lensmateonline.com/g3_samples.html looks too bad for me.

I'm searching digicam to buy and G3 is the first camera in my list. I planned to buy LA-DC58B and use the adapter with UV filter to protect the lens and the lens barrel.
Now I see that I would have certain problems using LA-DC58B.

Did not expect such a flaw from Canon.

Alex, I'm going to get both the 52mm and the 58mm Lensmate. I'll use the 52mm for lens protection with a UV filter. Plus I can use my other 52mm filters with that. I'll use the 58mm for telephoto and wide angle use. I will be using the LCD display anyway in both telephoto and wide angle. So, the viewfinder obstruction is no problem there.
