that is a cool effect, Im sure she will love this shot. By the way I'm thinking about getting the 85mm for my sons basketball games, how did you like it?

This is my first use of the 85; so far so good. The focal length seems better for me. I missed a lot of focus points at this game, which is my fault, but I have a couple more games this week before I have to return the lens. It's a fast game, and following these kids is a challenge, for sure. I looked at the review on Photozone on the 85 and it was very highly rated. This was shot in RAW, AV, ISO 1000, 1/640, F1.8. Thanks for the comments.

The the motion blur/wind effect needs to be going the other way. BTW, I'm not a fan of the edit.

Like I said, it's a weak attempt. I mainly was trying to differentiate the ball handler from the others, considering the looks on their faces.

yeah, maybe Kevin is right! maybe you could try to blur the other players and keep the girl with the ball in focus

I agree it's weak.
I see your in Hayward, I usually spend a couple of weeks up there during the summer. My in-laws have a place on Lac Courte Oreilles.
