With all the 10-22 EFS madness and the Sigma 10-22 is comming hopla hitting the forums, I thought I would ask if anyone has a and uses a Tamron 14mm. Handled one of these in my local store today. Was very nice. f/2.8 and seemingly built like a tank.

Curious on your opinions. My initial thought is that its not worth $900 for 2mm in my gear bag.

Thanks.

Ok Felix, seen what? Your scaring me! I have been really really sick. So when I'm not burning my normal 18 hour days at the restaurant I have been in bed with little time for shooting or posting.

Its nice to be missed.

There's an excellent picture around somewhere with the field of view of a 10mm, 12mm, 18mm, etc lens drawn on it, if someone can remember where it is it'd be worth posting.

I'm waiting for the 10-20 to be released before I decide what to get, but leaning towards Tokina 12-24.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm guessing it's because one of the lenses is a fisheye?

I'd get the 14mm and use it on full frame film camera! WIDE

I own it, and I like it. I think it gives less distortion than the EF-S 17-85 IS does at 17mm. Autofocus is a bit noisy, but I don't let that bother me too much. The Tamron has gotten some knocks in some reviews for susceptibility to flare, but I think that will happen with a lens that wide. Canon might do a better job with flare, but theirs is $800 more.

Tamron usually has a rebate going on the 14mm, so you can cut the cost that way.

I got mine used from KEH, and they have them frequently.

Good luck.

Have Fun,
