Great lighting! The only comment i have is that the PP on the eyes looks kinda fake, like the black ring around the eyes, and maby add more texture in the skin. But its a great photo none the less :)

Yahh.... The eyes do need to be re-done. I was in a bit of a rush while editing.

Believe it or not there wasn't much texture in the skin to begin with. I blew most of it out with the lighting and was using a razor thin DoF. I'll post the original when I get back home later for a comparison.

Felt too lazy to re-do that one so I just went ahead and edited another one of her pictures. Toned down the PP significantly for this one =)

Very nice results... and it shows that nice portraits are possible without a lot of light fittings around the studio :)
I know that the "highlight" look is popular but I do not like it personally. So I would take the exposure overall half or quarter of a stop down probably. I think the model's skin does not need much PP.
Don't know what you did with the eyes in #1. The black ring around the irises look a bit unnatural to me. Much better in the last post.
Why take the risk with that razorthin DOF? With a neutral backdrop you don't need that.

Yah usually I don't shoot with such a thin DoF. The background is actually a bedsheet that had a ton of wrinkles and creases. So in order to get it uniform (was in a rather small space to shoot) I had to have a wider aperture.

Went back and re-did the pictures. See my original post and let me know what you think =)

gibsonla, I don't know how much you follow the threads in this part of the forum, but could you leave the originals and then add the edits after? If you edit after people post, it leads to a lot of confusion. Keep originals in post 1, if you are embedding images anyway, you can have a total of 8 through the edits.

Yah sorry that was my original intention. But I accidentally overwrote the originals off of flikr so they weren't available for the thread anymore =/

Should I just start a new thread?

I wish I could have seen to originals.. I really would like to see the before and after shots of the eyes. The two posted make the eyes look fake, not that I dislike them or anything just want to see how far they were taken to get this above result.

Aside from darkening the pupils the eyes were untouched
