View Full Version : How do you attach your Domke strap?

I attached the strap to my 7D by just threading the strap through the "eyelets" on the camera (I didn't use the rings which are designed for true round eyelets--I think). I've had this setup for a few weeks now, but I noticed the left side strap is chaffing a bit and looks to be getting weaker. This seems to be caused by the camera not sitting level on the straps - the lens pull it off-axis when it hangs from my shoulder or neck.

Just wondering if other people use different attachment technique, or have had similar chaffing problems. I'll take a picture when I get home from work :)

I use Domke straps on all my bodies and don't use the eyelets without the issue you mention. Could you post a picture?

Sorry for the pic quality - my handheld is less than adequate.

Here is how it is attached to the body:

And the chafing. You can see the outer parts of the strap starting to unravel. This part of the strap is where it usually rides inside the eyelet.

my 5d strap has some wear, similar to the picture above. it's a normal process.
