Awesome shots as always, GMen :D
You surely have gotten the taste for that sport, huh?
What amazes me (apart from the missing brakes) is how slim the front tires on these bikes are.
I think I've seen mountainbikes with wider front tires
Have you also visited an ice speedway event?
I know, it's not the time of the year now, but those are spectacular as well (if they still are held nowadays).
Best regards,
Andy

Thanks Andythaler! Yep those front tyres are very slim - the front wheel of the bike seems to serve little purpose other than keeping the machine upright! Steering round the tight bends in achieved by simply throwing the back end out and keeping enough power on to stay on the racing line.
I've seen some images of ice speedway and it looks like a fantastic sport to photograph - I'll have to book my tickets to some remote Scandanavian venue soon! Although, I know that is sometimes raced indoor at ice rinks - Telford in the UK staged some I seem to remember - I'll keep my eyes peeled!

great shots as ever, gm. love your cricket pics too.
speedway is a great sport to see live .. i used to go to the old belle vue stadium regularly in the days of peter collins and chris morton, now they were awesome riders. an old school mate of mine, eddie garvey, used to be the official photographer there, don't know if he still does it.
