This is my Labrador Retriever, Duncan, in the ruins of an old stone church in Patapsco State Park, west of Baltimore, MD. I had my 20D and 17-85 IS on the tripod and was just setting up a shot when Duncan, impatient to get moving down the trail again, stepped into the picture with an expectant look. I wasn’t quite ready to shoot and I knew I had to act quickly, so I spun the mode dial to 'green rectangle' full auto, composed, focused, and got this one shot before he trotted on up to me. It wound up being my favorite shot of the morning.
