I re-worked this scan from a large print to see if I could get the colors to come out better... (the negative is on the list to get professionally scanned)
This is from a two day shoot that I did on this aircraft, the series was
"A day in the life of a Turbine 206..." from sunrise to sunset.
People used to think that this was an Oil Painting when they looked at it printed on matte paper.. (35x50cm)
(they really look great as large prints)
Did this with my old Pentax SuperProgram, 70-210/F4 zoom, 100 film, probably 1/60th shutter speed, hand held, around 6 AM on a chilly October morning, an hour outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. (a few years ago)
... one of my favorites...

Wow I can see why people thought it was an oil painting.
I was out running with my brother last night and he's off to Canada in Septmeber - talking about his float plane flights in Victoria.

Love the swirling mist onthe water and in the trees! Nicely balanced too. Colours look good to me - just right for the shot.

VERY - VERY nice it is so atmospheric and what it does is tell a story in an image.

Damian.. you should see if you can hitch a ride with your brother... and don't forget your camera.
EOSAddict.. Thanks. It was actually so misty that we had to wait a bit before he could take off, but he did some taxiing for the pics, which was pretty good for me.
Johno.. PhotosGuy.. Everytime I look at these pics.. well.. if you read my profile, you understand. ;)
I actually worked on this airplane, and then we flew it all over eastern Canada and the US, between Halifax and Montreal, to New York, Mass., Maine, etc. It then came over here to Germany, and ended up in Sweden, where the owner bought a cabin on a big lake. (reminded him of Canada.. but wasn't so far to fly.)

Impressive shot Lee, love the tones and even the grain. None of this plastic looking digital business;) Those pines in the background are textbook too, they're the element which adds to the whole painted feel imo

A great shot, I have some time in a CT-206, not a turbine. They are a blast to fly and have a lot of power for a big A/C. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Lynn
