I have just downloaded version 5.2.0.6 (7L) of ImageBrowser for OSX. When I looked for PhotoStitch under the [Edit] menu it was not there. Where can I get an OSX version of this software, if such exists? The Canon website doesn't offer any help on this.

just browsed thru the canon website.. and downloaded the latest ImageBrowser version too.
I believe that PhotoStitch was on the CD that came with my camera... 300D. what camera are you using?

I have the same version of IB and Photostitch is there under the Edit dropdown menu. Are you saying "PhotoStitch" is there but grayed out or are you saying that there is no menu selection entry for "PhotoStitch" in the Edit dropdown menu?

What I'm not sure about is whether PhotoStitch that I have came as part of IB which I downloaded or if it came from the original CD-ROM that came with the camera.

Many thanks for your replies. I bought my PowerShot G2 in 2003 and it came with the OS9 version of both ImageBrowser and PhotoStitch. When I upgraded to version 2.3.4.20 of ImageBrowser (in OSX) I didn't get a corresponding PhotoStitch upgrade with it, instead I had to use my original OS9 version of PhotoStitch through [Edit] [Start Application] of my upgraded ImageBrowser, which launched Classic OS to achieve the required result.

PhotStitch doesn't appear as an option in the Edit dropdown menu of the most recent versionof ImageBrowser I have, but [Start Application] is there under [Edit], but greyed out. Any ideas appreciated.

On mine, PhotoStitch is just above the grayed out Start Application menu entry. However, the PhotoStitch pick is also grayed out until you select an image from the Thumbnail section.

Dear Leo,

Many thanks for getting back to me so soon.

I have been clicking on two, or more, tumbnails before going into the [Edit] drop down menu and I am still getting no PhotoStitch option, greyed out or otherwise. Am I right in thinking that I need to purchase an OSX version of PhotoStitch (which I never had) somewhere along the line? If so, I have no problem doing this. It is just the lack of information on how to do this by our corporate masters that is bugging the s**t out of me - please forgive my French!

Regards,

PS: If Canon have a Customer Service e-mail address it is obviously a closely guarded secret.

I guess the OSX version of Photostitch wasn't available until the G3 model came out. Can you not use OS 9 version with the newest version of ImageBrowser?

BTW, here's a link to a Canon page that lists their contact numbers for Ireland:

http://www.canon-europe.com/Contact_Us/Canon_Europe_Contacts/Europe/Ireland.asp?ComponentID=25288&SourcePageID=27608#3

Good luck.

Leo,

Many thanks for sticking with this.

I'm sure I can figure out a way of connecting my current OS9 version of PhotoStitch with the upgraded version of ImageBrowser I recently downloaded, but, needless to say, this would involve launching Classic mode as part of the process, which I want to avoid.

I appreciate the contact information you gave me for Canon Ireland, but it would be easier for me to buy a downloadable OSX version of PhotoStitch, anywhere on the web, rather than ordering a CD copy locally. Do you have any pointers in that regard?

Cheers,

Unfortunately PhotoStitch doesn't seem to be available for download. It hasn't been updated since sometime in 2001 so if there ever was an update available for download, it's probably long since turned into cyber dust. :)

Leo,

I think we're finally getting to the core of the problem. If the PhotoStitch software hasn't been updated since 2001 an OSX version of it is unlikely to exist.

If such is the case, it is an absolute shame considering how useful a programme PhotoStitch is. Are there any other user-friendly photo-panorama packages out there that can be used in conjunction with the OSX version of ImageBrowser?

PhotoStitch for OS X.. in use occasionally when I do panoramas.
First shot is from ImageBrowser..
.. which launches PhotoStitch with the selected photos.

oh.. Titanium PowerBook OS X 10.3.8

Myth337,

Thanks again for joining us.

I can see from your attachment that you have an OSX version of PhotoStitch - where did you get it, if you don't mind me asking?

I have 4 copies of PhotoStitch (they came with each of my 3 digital cameras and one with my i9900). If you send me a PM, I'll gladly give you one of these copies.
