Good shots, I'd hate get my finger in its beak.

I really like the "What are you up to?" second shot. Is this bird a friend of yours, or were you in a blind?

For some reason these birds are really quite approachable I wasn't in a blind just lucky I guess

Sorry to take you away from the great photos to a detail about your bird. In the 4th shot especially, it looks to me like the lower right leg has been tightly wrapped with foil (?) The diameter just above the claws looks smaller than on the left leg. Do you know the reason? It implies to me that this bird has been handled gently, which may explain his lack of shyness.

I have no Idea how to respond Harold when I met the little guy in my wifes grandmothers backyard he seemed to be as wild as any other bird, I have always found that this breed of bird is very approachable as for tinfoil on his leg I just think it's an optical illusion of sorts, if he did have a former life as a pet he didn't say anything to me lol

That's just normal bird leg skin. It's tough and somewhat scaly, for some reason the light is reflecting on it giving it a reflective quality making it look like something artificial in these pics.

Nice series. I've only seen the male once about two years ago and could only get a poor shot through a window. I got some very nice shots of a female this year though.
