Sorry if this has been discussed, i've searched and haven't found the answer

But ever since i put my SHMC hoya pro-1 uv[0] on my 135 L, it seems a bit hard to take the lens cap on / off
is it because the thin thread on pro 1 filter?
it felt like the cap is actually hitting the filter's surface / the thread is not deep enough

It's hard to find the Protective filter or the usual SHMC UV filter, as it seems they only sell the expensive kind of filters in my city.

appreciate the help, thanks

Take the filter off and put it in a drawer and never bother with it again?

UV filters are pointless as protection. Insurance works better and won't degrade your images.

There are excellent suppliers available on the Internet (Adorama and B&H from New York City are two of them) who have a better variety of equipment and accessories at better prices than most local brick and mortar stores. I am sure that you could have found a more appropriate filter from one of these stores.

The debate on whether or not to use a UV filter goes on constantly. As for me, I am on the fence regarding protective filters. I don't usually use them but do own them and will slip one on my lens in conditions (rain, snow or blowing sand) that are dangerous for my lenses. BTW: I also ALWAYS carry an OPTECH Rain Sleeve in my photo vest for each camera. These are minimally expensive, do their job against percipitation as well as blowing sand and grit and weigh next to nothing:

Regarding a cap for your thin filter, the only thin filter I own (a CPL) came with a rubber slip-on lens cap which can be used in lieu of the standard snap-on cap. Perhaps one of these could be found either at the above suppliers or on eBay.

Another solution would be to use an OPTECH Hood Hat in lieu of a lens cap:

Or a combination of Lens Sleeve and Hood Hat:

I am not connected with OPTECH in any way. I just like their products.

Thank you all for the responses.
I certainly not trying to start another debate on whether to use protective filter or not. Living in SouthEast Asia country where it's dusty even in your air conditioned rooms, really left me with no choice.
I had to take whatever filters available, as I need to put them on since the lens came out of the box, based on my experience, and I surely don't want anything bad happens to my first (and maybe only) L lens I have.

I certainly will take a look at the products mentioned above, and try to look for them maybe in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Once again,thank you.

Sadly, insurance and online shopping are just some things that we don't have in the minor developing countries :(
