I was out last night playing with my new Canon 50mm f1.4 usm
Here is a 30 sec. exposure of Boat House Row at night.
Comments on how to shot at night wouuld help....
Shot from up on hill, this is a slight crop.

it looks a bit too dark to me...the soroundings. What is behind these houses? A mountain, sky?

The photo looks pretty noisy. ISO 296? I dont know how you set that one, but if it was that low, it seems like it shouldn't be as noisy as it looks. What mode did you have the camera set on?

Could the noise be from cropping, and I did some sharpening.
