Hi there.
This is for whoever has been using the USA warrantied digital camera such as a
Canon and a Nikon.
If you own them, then your item must have lunguage selection mode for the monitor screen on the back panel.
How many languages is it selectable and does it lnclude Japanese mode?
I want to re-import EOS 20D for the sub and EOS 1-Ds for the main from some on-line shop in NY to Japan because the street price of them in the US is much lower than that in Japan.
Even though international shipping fare and two CD-ROMs' cost ,for manual and driver soft written in Japanese, have to be additionally charged, the total cost is still attractive for me.
Gee,what a rip off!
Both Canon and Nikon are Japanese manufacturers.
The only question for the North American version is the language selection mode.
My Canon EOS 10D and Nikon D1X are not reimported from the US but the Japan warrantied products and their monitor language functions have eight options such as Deutsch, English, Espanol, Francais, Korean, Italiano, Japanese, Nederland, Sverska, and simplified characters in Chinese.
Does anyone know about the US warrantied version?

Yes, the Canon cameras that are sold here (in the US) have the Japanese language feature along with a few other languages. And as for the manuals and softwares, you can download the Japanese versions of them from the Canon Japan web site.

BTW, I notice this is your first post. Welcome. どうぞよろしくおねがいします。:)

Hi,Leo.
Yah, this is my first post and I really really appreciate your reply.
I must rush into buying one at the on-line shop in the US WITHOUT Japanese CD-ROMs.
By the way, I am very impressed with the last sentence in your reply.
How come that is written in the grammatically perfect Japanese?
Cool!

If you are going to buy from an online store in the US, maybe I suggest that you select one of the more reputable shops, such as B&H Photo. Sad to say, but true...there are some less-than-honest online shops here that'll rip you off every chance they get so be very careful with whom you do business .

As for my Japanese, it was the first language I ever learned, along with the Okinawan "Hogen" (I was born in Okinawa, Japan). Then when I started school, I went to an American school and English became my primary language and so, unfortunately, I never really developed my Japanese although I still know enough of it to be able to communicate with my Japanese mother.

I actually use my 20D in Japanese. Why? Because I am JAPANESE...
