These guys are loud & boisterous, and they travel in packs - just like me!

Great detail Scot. These fellows are usually pretty hard to get close enough to around here.

Yes, beautiful shot. The blue colors on the wing are nice and vivid and really pop against the background.

Very nice shot of this common bird, sharp and colors are great. You notice I said common bird, I have not one single image of this common bird that is worth posting, I find them to be very elusive to my camera and me.

Nicely done! Love the composition and striking colors!
I have them on my feeder daily and are quite common here, but have yet to shoot them.

fantastic shot of this jay............ yknow its actually just a blue and white crow...... (same family)
as is your magpie :)
I live in a district called ravenswood (as you prolly guess theres hundreds of ravens here) even those HUGE birds are hard to capture and i've tried on many occasions to get the magpies, i guess crow type birds are just camera shy :) ..........
Great work

Very nice shot of this common bird, sharp and colors are great. You notice I said common bird, I have not one single image of this common bird that is worth posting, I find them to be very elusive to my camera and me. Aint that the truth! Common but if you either take you camera out of its bag or go get you camera they take off. If you have no camera at all then they pose for the best pictures. Its almost like Blue Jays know that people are out gunning for the image. Its not like they are Michael Jackson and we're the Paperazzi but it almost seems like that.
Once again! Awesome picture.

Great shot - must've laid out good 'bait'. Looks like parrot mix or somesuch. The other day a bird pic used an apple to attract the bird. Have to try this feed idea...

Hey, thanks everyone, especially Airedale1 for bringing this old thread back to life! Carzee mentioned bait - I did do that by spreading some sunflower seeds on a rock. They got a meal and I got a picture - sounds like a good deal to me!
