View Full Version : Need advise

I have recently been hired to photograph a large event. After the event the customers will easily need to look at and purchase their images online. I have tried smugmug but I can see where a person could simply right click and steal the image. Any ideas are appreciated.

I use Exposure Manager but I'm sure that Smug is the same, You can disable "right click" . I have Exposure Manager resize my uploads so no full res files are on line. WHen a photo is ordered, I edit, crop and uplad a full res version for printing. All this still doesn't stop someone from doing a Print Screen to get a copy.

Smumug does have right click disabled on pro accounts.

Right click disable will do nothing to keep people from stealing your photos. Put a watermark across the middle to at least penalize those that do.
Smug and ExposureManager are both great, I use both. I prefer EM for my bulk sales and SM for my general hosting.

to make a watermark just open up a blank canvas in Photoshop, and type away.
make the text black.
save it as a BMP file.
upload it to smugmug (under Pro account) -put it in an unlisted gallery- :P
then click the photo, go to tools, this photo, other, "make into watermark." the rest is easy as pie.
under gallery settings you can also enable right click protection.
