Hi,
A few shots from yesterdays hill climb/khanacross.

Tried to use the very dusty conditions and sun to my advantage, what do you think.

Some honest cc would be much apreciated.

Cheers
Daniel

These must be real bad 100 views and no comments.

Here is an edit rather than the straight from camera shots. Any better??

the photos are lacking punch imo...
maybe try increasing the contrast???

Since you have Editing Imaging OK, here's my go at it. I decided to up the saturation for punch, it may be too much for your taste but anyways here you go. I added sharpening and a bit of contrast. Cropped too. Oh and as advice, generally you want a shutter speed that wont freeze the wheels. I did a little gaussian blur on them.

Yep a lot more punch nice job, I was trying to keep detail in the grill and front left tyre/underbody, and keep a feel for the low light dusty conditions.

Shutter speed was a trade off on getting the shot or missing it, the car had just come out from behind the barrier on the left and was swinging out towards me, a slower shutter speed was just missing the shot, too much bouncing up and down etc (impossible to get a smooth pan). Still movement in that back tyre wich is spinning and a little in the front, but know what you mean.

Heres a shot from earlier in the day, in better conditions with the car coming through the corner from the right.

i like that shot a lot. I'm jealous of an opportunity to shoot rally hill climb like that :)

i really like your first shot! well framed and cool perspective. i agree about your wheel blur. most rally photography will have frozen action totally because its too hard to properly pan the cars in those turns. plus they accel and slow down constantly. you did a good job. just work on your PP

Thanks holster, always a tricky shot to nail. Yep my PP is pretty ordinary need to practice a bit more.

cx, its a great out of the way track have been going there for years. I definately enjoy shooting rally/dirt track races, not very good on your gear though.
