I like the first pic but wonder if it might have looked better with the train at a dead stop (faster shutter) or more blurred. Right now it just looks out of focus. But good detail on the building.

Yeah, I was actually thinking the same thing. Wish I would have slowed down the shutter a lil more. I was actually taking pics of my bike and the train came, so I turned around and snapped a couple pics off.
Nice Bike
Thanks, I love that bike!!! I think my camera almost weighs as much as the bike!

The first one is great. Only issue I have is that mass in the lower right corner. I'd crop that out. I think you caught the motion well and the composition is very nice.
The second one is also very likeable. The colors and composition are fantastic and I like it alot. Good job of photographing graffiti and making it 'your' art.

Both look good to me, I like the detail in the gaffity. Agreed about wishing there was more motion blur on the train, but perfectly understandable consideting it was unplanned.

nice job with the edit :)
going back to the original image, (#1) i think the compo is good, but i can't really tell if this its lacking color or you made it b&w, i guess maybe because of the old building. the sky is a little bit overblown.

Thanks! I agree about the lower right corner. I had already cropped it and I wanted to have the red light above it in the picture. Otherwise, I would have cropped it completely.

There are lots of ways to print an image. Generally an image will call for a certain feel and while it is easy to go hog wild in Photoshop the results may not be the best for a particular image. The treatment by PBGerry effectively turned your image into a HDR caricature, no judgment on the effect, but it is one of many choices available. The first image is already printed with high contrast. It would be interested to see the original captures to know where you started from.
The second image is nice and you chose to highly saturate, no judgment it is a distinct choice. I learned the hard way that adding more or less saturation or sharpness or dynamic range does not necessarily make the image better. Purely a matter of taste and style. Here is a rendition of your second image but going for a more muted style of color using what was available as a source image. Yet another way to render an image. An approach I like to take is to first find a good neutral print and then explore from there.

made a duplicate and adjusted the curves till i got the sky like i wanted it then masked out the buildings so they weren't to dark. Then I used Lucis plugins to bring out the details and then a noise remover and that was it.Wish I had the original file. I'll do it for free as long as u mention me somewhere. I love the pic
