Canon s230 Higher shutter speed + Pictures

I just got the s230 and had a few questions on the Shutter speed and aperture.
How do I change the shutter speed to a higher level (EX: 1/1500)?
How do you change aperture?
Your answers will be apreciated.

This has been covered a lot, so do some searching to find more, but no, you cannot manually make these changes.
There are ways to trick it, but I haven't mastered these yet. It involves setting exposure and ISO settings, etc.

I love my S230. I don't have to put much effort in to get pics like the ones below.
