Had to delete most of the other picturs from the first thread for multiple reasons.

Anyway, here's me just praticing (dirty car/winter wheels/ect...) I'm really trying to focus on decent reflections, which isn't that easy with ambient light. Anyway, here they are:

Lesson learned these past 2 days of shooting: You can't have it all. Its either a 'cool background' and contend and work with bad reflections (i did my best) - or go to an open space and have great reflections but a lack luster background...

thanks... yeah I didn't get too crazy with post processing, these were just lightin/reflection practice... tried to keep out bad reflections the best I could while at the same time keeping the background somewhat interesteing.

#8 would be good if you didn't have a lightpost growing out of the roof of the car. Either clone that out using photoshop, or re-position yourself so it doesn't show up in the picture.

Nice light on the last ones! Its either a 'cool background' and contend and work with bad reflections (i did my best) - or go to an open space and have great reflections but a lack luster background... First make the car look good?

i usually like having old buildings or funky stuff in the background to contrast with the car, but have a hard time getting good reflections.

i can go to a parking lot at dusk and get great reflections... but everyone and their mother has seen 'parking lot shoots'...

any widsom in finding the best of both worlds?

The problem with funky stuff or old buildings in your background is they can be distracting. You're taking pictures of a car, not an office building, ya know? With that said, it is hard to find good locations to shoot a car, you have to get creative. Parking structures can be good at night as long as the lighting is decent, old abandoned roads are great too if you can find one.

i feel like the city shots are a little too busy. mabye find a more open city area that has better depth? ive never seen good reflections before. why do you need a lustrous background when your subject is the car? make sure your displaying the subject. anything els could overpower the car.

warehouse areas make great backgrounds because they still retain the urban feeling and usually provide a lot of room to distance your subject from everything.
