my CC is that the first one has harsh highlights and shadows, and the 3rd one the wb seems off, the 2nd isnt bad tho, maybe a little soft on the left player...

yes I would agree, I am still playing with the contrast and saturation levels as it is always overcast,
Below is the same game in with no changes to contrast etc etc - just look how dull the pitch looks :(

It did.
Like how you managed to keep the ball in shot for all of these. I remember when I shot at Fulham's ground, was a bit of a pain keeping track of everything.

I usually shoot in AV mode with the lens wide open (f2.8) and try to fill the frame as tight as possible, I'll also try to keep the ISO as low as I can while keeping the speed above at least 1/700 (when light permits). I also like to position myself as low as possible and always use a monopod.

The first thing I noticed is that the timing just isn't there to make them very interesting to me. I want BAM!, WHAM!, BIFF!, POW! Peak action. Ball crushed against a body part, body part colliding with body part and all that rot ;~)
When you have sports shots without good timing. . . . . all the technical ability in the world just doesn't mean that much.
