My first macro shot with the G3

That's a very good start.

The focus could have gone a little further back
to include the shell entirely, asthat is the main point of interest
and at the same time that would have blurred some
of the less interesting foreground.

But for a first attempt you can be well pleased
with yourself.

We hope to see more soon, and maybe even closer
if your camera will permit it.

I'm curious why the depth-of-field effect seems to be at a diagonal. Did you shoot at an angle and rotate the picture?

It seems to me you could have moved in a couple of inches. At least thats how the dof looks to me. As Eland said lets see more!

Thanks for going easy on me.To answer your question about angle,Yes it was shot at an angle due to the slope of the beach I was on.I would of gotten closer but the wind was blowing and I didn't want to get sand in my brand new shiney camera.I'll post some more once I get a chance to go again.Thanks for the input
