I've been playing a bit with the new Adobe RAW converter. The results look pretty good to me.
I have a question. Do any of you adobe gurus know how it works? More specifically, does it operate in the linear domain? Up to now, lots of us have been taking the extra step of converting our RAW files to linear tiffs and then using one or another tool to work on the linear tiff. Adobe's plug in allows me to change exposure, white balance, saturation, etc as well as
sharpen. What am I working on when I do this? Directly on the RAW file? On a linear tiff file? or on
a tiff file produced by non-linear conversion?

Not a burning issue because the output looks good, I'm just curious.

thanks
j.
