yea so i need a tripod. my heaviest setup is a gripped 40d with a 70-200 sigma with a external flash. so about 11-12 lbs. i was wondering what your ideas are for a tripod that would be capable to handle that amount of weight, that is easily movable. i am also considering the manfrotto 322rc2 head. so let me know what you think.

i wouldnt mind buying used if possible so if anyone is trying to get rid of your tripod or head, im interested. ohh and i am looking also at pelican cases to hold the equipment in my sig. so if you have a suggestions in that area, i would like to hear your opinion.

thanks again,

How tall are you? Depending on your height, I'd go with a Manfrotto 190XPROB or 055XPROB (taller, heavier, sturdier, more expensive) with something like a 498RC2 which is a new ballhead. If you buy used, then get the 190/055XPROB + 488RC2.

I'm using a Manfrotto 190CX3 with a Kirk BH-3 setup and it works fine all the way to 400mm on a 1.6 crop. I used to have a 190XPROB + 486RC2 setup which worked well with my 70-200 2.8IS on a 1.6 crop.
