2 days ago I found this lens in stock on BH video.

Yesterday, it was out of stock.

Isn't that crazy for a $1190 lens?

That would make it the equiv. of roughly a 50mm. Quite popular. I have seen this lens fly off the shelf at my local dealer as well. Wish he had one today, I would have probably snatched it up. Actually, its more of a blessing that he did not, so there will be peace in the house!

This lens is the most hard-to-get Canon lens of them all - i waited 6 months to get my hands on. Worth every second i waited. This is incredible ! This and 85/1.2 and 135/2.0 are in the same league

I wish I could buy the 24 f1.4L next autumn; I'm coming over US and want to buy it.
Is the 24mm L hard to find in stock too?

Same problem here. www.normancamera.com had 6 in stock. Within less than 24 hours they were all gone! I picked up the 85mm 1.2L instead. Worth the trip, one of these days I'll get my hands on one of those elusive 35mms.

I found one at Helix camera in Chicago last week. I've just been calling around hoping I'd find one and I did. I was just at Photovillage's Web site and they claim to have some. This lens is awsome and well worth the effort to find. I suspect that the quality control on this lens is so tight that not many make out for sale.

Good Luck

They are trickling in, and being sold quickly. Onecall.com just got some in stock, but I suspect that they'll be gone again in a day or two (hint - "Dear Tom W., your order has shipped..."). :)

The 24/1.4 is much easier to find. It might not be as popular, but it is in stock in most of the larger stores, most of the time.
