Resizing issues using Photoshop

I am new to this forum and hoping someone out there can help me. When I resize pics using Photoshop, I get some vertical line distortion. This only occurs if I resize. Any advice?

Have you tried resizing with a different application to see if you get similar results?

I've never seen anything like that before. I would uninstall/reinstall photoshop to see if that fixes it.

I wasn't able to load your photo (server refused), but what algorithm you have chosen on Image resize -dialog in PS?

and then post the exact steps you take to resize
then post the result

We can then try it ourselves and see what happens

I take the pic and open it up with Photoshop 7.0, go to Image, Image Size, then under with, I put in 900 then hit enter and save.

I think I might uninstall & reinstall PS7. I'm using it, too.

If you're resizing for the web, I enter the 72dpi first, then a max of 800 width for the forum (rules). After resizing, then is the time to sharpen it. Then File> Save for Web & adjust the "Quality" setting to stay under the 100KB size to attach to the Forum (rules, again). ;-)

Just tried all possible combinations and variations even changed the pixel aspect ratio and still couldn't get this effect so I'm with PhotosGuy with this one... You may somehow have got a corrupted alogrithms file so would reload it...
Saving for the web I size and sharpen the image then use the save for web feature (4up) and see which still looks good and keeps a small file size, usually medium guality of 30...

When I take pics in S, M1, M2 I see the vertical lines when I playback in the camera. When I take it in L mode, the playback is fine but I get the vertical lines when I resize. Do you think it could be the sensor?

If you see the lines in camera it could be the sensor or a fualty memory card... I would try another memory card and if that is no different I would have the camera seen to...
