Hi all,

Thought I'd try get some feedback on my first go at a couple of Panoramas. The first is 7 images taken in portrait, and the second is just 2 images in landscape. The first one I have had processed to 18x7 and framed. I like it at lot. Unfortunately on the screen I can still 'just' see the stitch points. But on the processed image you can't find a single one.

CC welcome!

Those are beautiful....... I love the views and they look good enough to frame and hang. Nice work.

Loverly shots Mal and nice seamwork.....I really like the Magnetic Island shot, haven't been there since the 80's!

I agree.

Makes me want to try my hand at stitching.

Thanks all. I wan't sure if they were 'that' good. I liked them! But I was in need of some confirmation :)
I'd still like to get the blend better!

Awesome shots. What focal length were the shots taken at? Also, did you do "hand stitching"? All panoramics that I've tried with the Canon photostitch turned out pretty badly. Am I using the wrong software, or is there some trick to this?

Both are impressive Malcolm, good comp, exposure and light. Aside from the slightly visble seams the perspective looks excellent, like codex0 I'm interested in your processing technique and the lens/tripod head used.

Just a cheap tripod, nothing special there. Lens was actually the nifty fifty. I figured it would give a sharper image than the kit lens. It just means taking more shots than required with a wide angle. Stitching was done with PTAssembler. Exposure was set manually based on the central image, then kept the same for all other shots. Post Processing was done in photoshop after the stitch was complete.

Thanks again.

I had a feeling it would be with PTAssembler, the horizon in the first is just way too flat for anything from the quick and nasty programs :p. The 50 is probably the perfect lens in that it keeps distortion to a minimum. G'luck and keep at them Mal, panos are an awesome format imo.

Does anyone know where I can find the old freeware version of PTAssembler?
