I'm trying to print a sender address and a business logo on large envelopes, larger than will fit in my printer, so I guess I have to use sticky labels. I know absolutely nothing about printing labels, not a single thing. Is there a beginners guide to printing labels anywhere? ie do you do it in Microsoft Word, or what?

Edit - my printer is a Canon ip5000, on a PC.

TIA

Yes, Microsoft Word does it. In the Menu under tools, you may see Envelopes and Labels. Avery is one company that produces lots of blank label products, so they have provided a Wizard that helps you handle these tasks.

White labels are rather universal and cheap. Transparent labels are better. I keep a half-dozen different blank label products on hand, and I keep some pre-printed and handy.

It costs about US$20 for 20 sheets of inkjet printable labels! I really didn't expect them to be so expensive, might get 'em, might not. I guess per label they're cheap, but given I need only one that's one expensive lablel!

what size of envelope are you using ? up to A4 should be fine, as long as their not padded.

If you only need one use, maybe you could just get a friend who prints them to do one for you?

Or if you're really looking to pinch pennies, why not just print the address on a piece of paper, cut it out to a label-esque size, and stick it on with some clear packing tape?

I'm using an envelope to take an 8*12 photo. Don't know anyone with labels, $20 isn't a big deal it just seems like a lot for a single label.
