This is my first time posting a pic, so any comments or critique are appreciated. I just recently got into photography as a hobby....only got my camera less than a week ago. After browsing this website for awhile, I have decided to capture alot of my pictures in black & white, due to seeing the beautiful B&W captures that martin-images posts.

Image captured with Canon EOS 20D, 70-200mm f4.0 L @ 135mm. Any comments or critique will be appreciated.

It looks like a good start to me, but awfully dark. Do you have any software to adjust the brightess or levels?

You captred this in B&W mode? You would probably be better off taking color photos and then converting them to B&W later. You have much more flexibility that way.

If you're just starting, and don't have any software like Photoshop, i'm not sure what your best bet is. I know there are some free programs, like the GIMP. And the software that came with the camera probably lets you do some simple adjustments, like brightening up this underexposed lily.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :)
