Can any RSE users help? I am just using it for the first time for serious work converting 500+ pics from my recent holiday. BUt I can't seem to get it to retain EXIF data in the converted JPEG files even though I have EXIF selected in the Metadata box on the batch convert screen....

Help??

Come on all you RSE users out there, someone must have an idea!

I havn't tried yet but if you convert and save in TIFF does it keep the EXIF data?

I only ever convert to TIF (can't see why anyone would want to convert to JPG) and the Exif is totally intact. Just tried a quick JPG conversion and it is also fine. Under the Batch Convert tab is Metada set to Exif or None?

EXIF - thats what confuses me. I will try TIFF and see what happens. I convert to JPG so I can show them on my P2000!!!

Ok, now I am really getting annoyed. I have tried TIFF and JPEG with metadata set to EXIF and none. I have also back loaded version 1.1.2 from 1.1.3 and STILL every file I convert shows NO EXIF data in PSE3, EXIFER, Picasa etc.

Can anyone help? THis is killing me!

What happens if you use another program to convert, such as Canon's DPP? You could always ask on the RSE forums http://forum.pixmantec.com/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/rawshooterfree2005/page/0

EDIT: Just found the answer for you. You MUST have the THM's present as that is where the Exif is stored for cameras with CRW RAW files. I hope you have the THM's?

Thanks!

I have kept the THMs - just not in the same directory!!! Will try it and see!

KennyG,

It works!!!!! If I wasn't bald I would have been tearing my hair out - many thanks..

All (!!) I need to do now is to relink all 250 THMs to their renamed CRW files and reconvert in RSE - that's all!

At least I have my sanity now.
